Train Intentionally, Not Habitually

Functional patterns emphasises training in patterns aligned to the way humans have evolved to move. Standing, walking, running and throwing are all movements programmed deep in our DNA. The better balanced we are within nature’s rules the better we move and perform.

For many of us our lifestyles and prior exercise decisions are moving us further away from those rules. When we repeat dysfunctional patterns over and over again, our bodies get used to staying within the dysfunction rather than changing. Poor patterns and dysfunction increase the chance of injury every time you move because they constrict your natural movement.

By employing the principles of functional patterns we can undo habits, repair dysfunction and improve postural alignment and stimulate the body in a more intelligent way to unlock better movement and athletic performance.

BE ACTIVATED


OBEY THE PRIORITIES OF THE BODY

Be Activated is about obeying the two key priorities of the body: breathing and moving.  When our bodies are not able to do this as intended it will employ compensation strategies in order to adapt and survive.  This gives rise to loss of energy, dysfunction and pain because parts of our body are not doing their job properly.

Using a standard sequence protocol we can identify which parts of your body are not functioning and where the compensation is driven from. By activating those parts that are not doing their job properly we can return muscles and structures to their correct patterns.  The body and brain can then integrate and allow the body to operate more effectively and efficiently. A stress-free body can then go back to working at full capacity, bursting with energy and vitality.

The feedback loop is immediate. An activated body will quickly change from a state of tension, weakness and pain to a strong, relaxed state of excellent performance. Through regular activations, you can make the shift and lock it in – essentially returning the body to factory settings.
