Exercise Physiology

CORE FOUNDATIONS exercise physiologists provide you with the tools and empowerment to leave you feeling and moving better.

Through the power of movement, an accredited exercise physiologist can help you rehabilitate your body and become more body aware with strategies and education.  Movement is also a powerful ‘drug’ when it comes to managing and beating chronic disease.

Our accredited exercise physiologists are post-graduate degree qualified allied health professionals who specialise in exercise prescription through evidence-based clinical care.

The first session with CORE FOUNDATIONS will always be a Foundation Session.
This is an important step in getting to know our clients and enables us to build a clear picture of how they move and what their specific needs are.  This information is the foundation from which we build the personalised solution to address each individual’s needs and ensure that we structure our programs in a way that is safe and responsive to our clients’ specific health needs.

There are two key parts of the Foundation Session:

  • Information gathering about medical conditions, lifestyle and environment; and a
  • Physical assessment

We use the results of the Foundation session to prescribe an exercise program to address our clients’ specific needs.  We specialise in delivering safe and effective exercise programs using an active approach to treatment through mobility, stability, strength and movement.

We also provide the tools and support to empower our clients and assist them in managing their health independently. Our exercise physiologists can help with:

  • General health and wellbeing
  • Injury rehabilitation and prevention
  • Mobility and strength
  • Stability and balance
  • Women’s health
  • Pre- and post- pregnancy
  • Heart health
  • Chronic disease management
  • Neurological conditions e.g. Parkinson’s Disease, MS

Continue to do the things you love with Forever Young.  This is a program designed specifically for clients over-55 to help improve strength, stamina, balance and resilience. We provide the tools for our clients to learn how to enhance activities of daily living as well as learning strategies on how to improve movement and reduce pain.

In small groups we create a training environment for our clients to relearn and reconnect through fun, challenging training programs all designed to leave them moving better and feeling great.

Exercise can be successfully applied to improve health and wellbeing for individuals living with chronic disease and is particularly effective for those living with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and MS.

Our Movement for Life program draws on the exercise philosophy of PD Warrior, which is a program designed to help slow Parkinson’s down. Bringing together the latest evidence and implementing the ‘Training BIG’ method it proves that exercise is medicine.  Drawing on these techniques we can design effective programs for those managing other neurological conditions.

Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists are allied health professionals and are registered with Medicare Australia, The Department of Veterans Affairs and Workcover and are recognised by most private health insurers.  Refer to the Private Health Insurance Fact Sheet for a comprehensive list of providers that cover exercise physiology services.

Clients with chronic conditions are eligible for Medicare rebates through an Enhanced Primary Care Plan.  Check with your GP to see if you are eligible for referral.
